Legal Officer

We are looking for a capable and detail-oriented Legal Officer to join our team. What you will do: Draft, review, and manage loan agreements, MOUs, and other legal documents Ensure compliance with Ugandan financial regulations, including the Tier 4 Microfinance Institutions and Money Lenders Act Advise management on legal risks and regulatory matters Support debt recovery and repossession processes Liaise with external lawyers, regulators (URA, UMRA), and government bodies Support registration of securities under the Chattels Securities Act, 2014 What we are looking for: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognised university Post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Law Development Centre) Minimum 2 years of legal practice, ideally in financial services or microfinance Experience with contract drafting and debt recovery is an advantage Practical, solutions-oriented, honest, and detail-oriented What we offer: Competitive salary (negotiable) Real growth opportunities in a fast-expanding company Open and collaborative work environment How to Apply: All applications will be received and reviewed through the BrighterMonday Portal by clicking on the 'Apply Here' section
