Reporting line (s) : Camp Manager and/or Assistant Camp Manager Location : Erebero Hills Position Overview : This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional guiding services as per defined company standards. Roles & Responsibilities: Managing the guide team and related guest experiences. Guiding guests as and when required. Ensure all guiding safety standards are met. Elevate the guest experience with thorough arrival and game drive briefings, hosting & storytelling, with a focus on attention to detail in all areas. Assist camp managers with guest/guide allocations. Conduct monthly vehicle and guide equipment inspections and report any repair/maintenance or shortages of equipment to camp management. Ensure guides are ready for all activities as defined by set standards. Ensure guides adhere to all national park rules & regulations. Verify that all statutory guiding documentation or licensing for the guide team is valid. Assist camp management in identifying freelance guides to meet staffing requirements. Train, mentor, and motivate the guide team. Assist with guide training and guiding assessments. • Assist managers with additional guest relations duties when required, such as welcoming and entertaining new arrivals, hosting, guests problem solving, etc. • Communicate and promote camp activities. • Perform any other duties as assigned by camp management. Required Skills & Qualifications Advanced USAGA training & certification At least eight (8) years of relevant experience Valid driving licence Possesses sound knowledge of the safari industry and camp operations area Expertise in ornithology, ethology, photography, walking safaris, and knowledge of local culture preferred Ability to speak the local community's language would be an added advantage Meticulous attention to detail, as well as a learning mindset Good communication skills, a service delivery mindset, and a strong customer service focus Leadership skills: ability to lead by example and develop management ability Ability to work well under pressure Teamwork Applicants must have proven experience working in safari operations and lodge services, with a strong understanding of guest hospitality standards, wildlife tourism activities, and day-to-day lodge management procedures.
