Our client is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Animal Nutritionist to oversee herd feeding operations and ensure optimal animal performance. Job Purpose: The role is responsible for coordinating all herd feeding activities, ensuring the timely provision of high-quality feeds and adequate water to livestock. The successful candidate will also monitor feed quality and manage feed stock inventory in line with best farm management practices. Main Duties/Responsibilities: Feed management Develop, lead, and monitor the farm feeding plan generate /formulate feeding formulars for different animals’ categories and monitor the budget in line with the company goals. Animal feeds and feeding Coordinate recording and requisition of feeds from the stores and issue of the same to the hammer mill operators and cattle feeders Present monthly feedback stock inventories and feed purchases plan for approval Present weekly feed consumption and milk production for analysis in a management meeting oversee and coordinate field and cow barns activities to ensure that cow comfort is prioritized, feeds are always available. Coordinate the feed mixing and distribution of feeds through use of a well-maintained tractor, feed mixer and other implements. Leadership, innovation and feed quality control. Coordinate the allocation of department staff tasks, working schedules, performance assessment, disciplinary actions in line with the Organisation HSE and HRM guidelines. Analyze and advise on the cost implications of the department intervention in relation to the company goals. Laboratory feeds analysis and data interpretation to advise procurement and to inform ration formulation Education and Professional Qualifications: BSc.
